Default Carb'd L92 won't start, help please

So, I'm supposed to pick up my car tomorrow but apparently the guy's who are working on it can't get it to start.

They're trying to bypass the VVT Cam on the L92 by using an LS2 timing cover and the motor isn't getting spark because it's not picking up any signal from the cam....Any input would be GREATLY appreciated, since I'd really like to have my car back.

What reluctor wheel does your motor have and what MSD box are they using?

I hope you didn't buy an aftermarket, gear driven starter. There has been several posts about engines not cranking fast enough for the MSD box to realize the engine needs to start. Some of these guys had a gear driven starter, some just had older weak starters, but some actually had to send the box back for an exchange or update to the electronics. Try jumping the car and see if it starts when it has extra amps and cranking speed. If it does, then you will need to call MSD because you have a problem in the box. All of this is assuming you have everything hooked up correctly, and a good battery on the car now.

I don't know if this will help or not. I had the same problem starting mine. I wired it through the key so when I turned the key on I had 5 volts but when turning the motor over there was no voltage to trigger the MSD box to fire. I had to wire the box to the battery and it fired right up. Rod

Default msd issues

I had this same problem. The guys at msd told me that it was either bad ground to motor or motor not turning over fast enough. I installed extra ground cable to motor and put in 1000 cca battery and had no problems. It started up.

So, after trying everything and anything under the sun...The MSD box was bad, ordered a new one and she fired right up. Big fvck you to MSD for making a product that everyone in the world seems to have a problem getting to work properly.
