Arrow going to race a C4 vette with an ls2 need advice!

hi guys,im Jeff and i live in Holland [the Netherlands for newbies]
i hope to get some serious advice from the pro`s here
my question is
i have a 1986 with no tranny ,trans and rear suspension
now i got the rear susp. covered with a Moser M9 axle and 4 link setup [but no axles and center section yet
AND i bought a 2005 ls2 vette engine with cam damage [overrevved] so the hydro.lifters are gone and the cam also the standard heads are good an the crank and rods/pistons also [the engine has 20.000 km on it]
my idea was a good cam [don't know with one yet]a carb intake with carb and a shot 100hp of nitrous i already have conversion plates so i can hang the ls2 in my vette but then?.....
remember its a 1986 vette with no carpet ,race seats an its for 90% drag racing but will see a little street driving from time to time [2hr drive max.]

so what do i need ?
thanks Jeff.

What are your hp goals and are you using the LS2 heads? Would help in determining cam choice.

My 91 C4 vette /w a LS1 & TH350 weighed 2820 plus me with no weight reduction. Went 10.8 on the motor with only 425 rwhp on a mild heads/cam/ls6 intake...

The IRS in it was about the hardest hooking car on the street...you can fit 28x14.50 Hoosier Quicktime Pro's on 15x10 as well without minitubbing etc...

Also I never broke the Dana 44 pulling 1.42 60 ft's...with hundreds of passes

you should definitely start looking for a nice head cam package. the futral motorsports f-14 makes some real nice power on the top end with a good tune.. i have no idea if tuning is available where you are but... thats something to think about. Vengence Racing has some nice packages as well.. i would say a 150 shot should do it for what your looking for with heads/cam and bolt ons. You could also look into the FAST intakes.

yes but i don't have a computer and cables and so on..
so the cheapest way to go for now is carb setup with a plate
but isn't 150 shot to much for standard rotating ***. ?

I am running a Carb on my C3 vette.

LS2 heads are pretty good from the factory. to stay on the cheap you can have them milled to about 62cc to give a little more compression... and pocket port them.

Remember LS2 vette heads are similar casting to LS6 heads.

As far as cam choice... you need to think about what stall converter and gears? But most LSx motors respond very well with milder cams... 220 and 230 duration cams are good for the street and track.

As far as the NO2 should be any issue. I have my new setup ... ready for the spray. But doubt I will use it until after I get about 3-4 months of runs under my belt n/a

To give you and Idea of my old setup...
77 vette
01 346 with afr 205 heads
224/224 581/581 114 lsa cam
headers
Vic Jr. Intake
Edelbrock MSD box
680 AED HOLLEY Carb
3000 stall
3.36 gear and TH350 trans
12.01@115 1.77 60ft
with rather tall 275/60R15 Drag radials

Btw ... I drove 30 miles each way to the track and back.

New setup...
418 LS3 (forged bottom)
Afr Heads
240/244 cam
Vic Jr Intake
830 HOLLEY
new style MSD Box (with delay)

later 150 hp kit

thanks man ,you new setup sound OK to me

i must stay on the budget side because parts are expensive over here

BTW mine will have 4.11 gears and a 350 trans with ...??? stall converter [depends on the rest i think ]
and a 100 shot plate sys.
first i wil take it appart and inspect the whole engine, than new bearings ,piston rings and a street/STRIP cam
if i do this than I'm on the budget and i always have room for improvements

jeff.
