Do you plan on using a power adder?

What bore and stroke were you thinking about using?

Can you take an iron block out to 4.065? I thought 4.060 was max? You can run a 4.1 crank to get you to your desired displacement. with the right top end you can make your power goals without nitrous. usually the longer the stroke the less life expectancy a motor will have as far as a parts failure, what that exact figure is no one can really tell you.

well the 418 we would build would be a 4.030 bore with a 4.100 crank and we would not recommned it be used for any power add application. That's not to say others wont bore it out more than that.

Well i have a 415ci 6.0L LQ4 bored to 4.065 bore x 4.00 stroke...whats the difference in the grand scheme of things between a 4.030 and a 4.065=.0175 off each side of the cylinder wall. Get it sonic tested to find the thickness of the cylinders if youre nervous...i dont know about a power adder on a 4.100 stroke. I have a nitrous setup for my motor however, im going to shot 250+ once its broken in and well see how it goes. Best of luck if you decide to try something a bit different than the most popular or normal setups. You cant ever guarantee something with work, but i can definitely guarantee it will eventually break....well most likely

Before I decided to pull the trigger on 4.065 pistons i called around to some shops/sponsors on the boards, I was advised that people bore out to 4.070 pretty often on 6.0L iron block...gave me some confidence....as well as my motor builder calling me a *****

Piston. With that much stroke, the pin gets into the ring land and your crown is thin, etc....

I am doing a 414" nitrous build right now with a 6.0 iron block and a 4.00 crank. Had it sonic before we took it .060. Plenty of meat left, so we went with it. Could have went 4.065 if we wanted, but a .060 over is a common shelf piston. BUT, with core shift as such, I would highly recommend a sonic on a block if you want to go more than .030.
