Need some advise on H/C combo.
First of all I'm working with an 06 Ls2.
The car is not my DD but I would like it to remain streetable, I plan on getting into road racing (non competative). And would like the motor to be able to handle a weekend of hard track driving without breaking a sweat.
Power goals for my project are 450~500 WHP.
I plan on running L92 heads. But I don't know if I should have them ported or where.
I need some input on cam sellection as well as valvetrain. And from the searching I've done It looks like I can only spin the motor up to 6500rpm safely? I'd like to go a bit higher If possible but won't if it shortens the motors life.
The block will be left stock for now. I know there are other elements of the build i need to work on but this thread is about the top end.
Any tips would be great. or at least point me in the right direction to search. this forum has an overwhelming amount of knowledge and I need some help sorting through it.
Thanks!

Watch the heavy intake valves in the 92 heads if you want to spin it up. Ls3 intakes are lighter, hollow stem I believe. I would use a good double spring for the sustained rpms.

Thanks for the feedback! how high could i safely spin the motor with ls3 intake valves? Is there any difference between the LS3 and L76 (that i plan on using) intake? Any double springs in particular out perform the others? Or are they all about the same?

You might also consider a nice set of cathedral heads to go with a fast intake combo. We're finishing up a small chamber version of the PRC 227cc heads that when combined with the Fast ported intake would be a awesome combo.

here was another 6.0-this one with tfs 225's and a fast 92-while the peak hp is similar-the catherdral ports have alot more power under the curve due to the smaller intake ports.
