Bigger cams generally dont' make much more if any power than smaller upper 230's cams on LS7 setups. Just some FYI. Not sure on the biggest you can fit.

Good to know. Of course it depends on the setup. If he is going for all out race, then yes, throw the biggest cam in there where the power stays in the top 2K rpms through out the race. If its a street setup, really no point in going as big as you can if driveability is also a concern. Been there done that. I was also refering to the intake side, not exhaust. Exhaust is fine in the 250's - 260's.

Anyway, anyone have an answer for the biggest cam that will fit?

I already put a 25x/26x 624.624 lift on a 115 lsa and was just wondering if I could go bigger.

Whats the setup for? That seems like an awfully large cam as it is.

That is a nice size cam. We have had very minimal gains going with cams above the high 230's to a cam in the 250's on ls7's

thats in a ls7 bottom end with wcch l92 heads. The best it went was 10.41 @130 and thats in a 3700pds vehicle with a powerglide.

Yes. You can increase your intake lift .025 more. I think your int duration is too long. That's it for the lobes. But you can reduce your LSA and advance it, to keep your mid torque and increase high-end power. It's a little undrivable.

I would suggest a smaller cam. Bigger will probably not net you anything unless you can swing a serious bump in compression (12:1), as I believe your setup is pretty maxed as it is. 130mph is FAST esp for 3700lbs. I ran a 126 at 3780lbs, but my et was horrid as I was on street tires and didn't grab until I hit third gear with a 2.7 60ft (6spd). That was with my 235/250 650-650 lift cam, LS7 headed 427.

I would either change heads (LS7's) or mill for more compression, and run a smaller cam (high 230's - low 240's int / 250-260's exh).

Whats your vehicle setup? What other supporting mods do you have?
