Question cam suggestions 6.2

I have a 6.2 l92 with ls3 heads. What cam would you suggest for it. I am looking for 525+ hp and also should I retain the vvt or switch over to non vvt. Its going in an rcsb 87 s10 with a 6spd manual 3.73 gears and 28in tire. One more question with this setup what kinda times could I be looking at on the track.

comp has 2 VVT cams:
156-402-13 = 218/232, .563/.575, 114
156-403-13 = 222/236, .566/.578, 114
check out the nov '09 issue if GMHTP, page 40 for a test of various LS3 cams

You can also check out this article, a study and dyno test of street-friendly LS3 cams (non-VVT). Max power was around 550hp out of the biggest cams, as I said they are street-friendly. Given our experiences with these motors, we are curious to see what some bigger cams will do (hint, hint; wink, wink).

so sounds like I should get rid of the vvt and stick a good cam in it even if it means changing pistons
