From what I read, the '07 L76 is a 6.0L with the L92 heads with DOD/AFM. I forgot if it has VVT though . Could be wrong.

I believe it has dish pistons if it came with a truck manifold. I would assume flat top pistons if it came with a car intake. I know they called the engine in the G8s L76s, but while I was searching for a LY6, the website indicated they offered L76s in 07 trucks. I THINK it might of been the engine before LY6. I recently read in the trucks it had the DOD and they dropped that feature in the car/G8 version.

I did't help any, huh? lol.

Pistons are flat top. Blocks are nearly identical to LS2 except for the DOD hardware. I believe the pistons are the same.

what about crankshaft and rods and about the cam of the ls3 is it the same as ours

I think the pistons are different because of L92 heads and VVT so piston has different intake valve relief. I think block, crank, and rods are the same. DOD hardware on block but same block as LS2. Block part numbers are the same.

Pat, according to the gents from Oz, the L76 isn't the same bore as the LS2. I think it's 3.988 or something like that.

The L76 and LS2 short motors are identical with 4" bores (exception is the crank when it has 24X timing from from an '05). When GM went for the Holden L76 for '06 they added L92/LS3 heads to the LS2 short motor with the L76 car intake and called it an L76 with DOD, and an L98 without DOD.

G8 GT's get the L76.

Truck L76's got VVT as well from '08.

With VVT there is an exhaust valve relief in the pistons as per L92 Truck/L99 Camaro A6.

Some l76 came with dish pistons and valve reliefs and others came with flat tips with valve reliefs. Weird stuff gm came up with but I have seen both engines and they're classified as l76.

L76 has no dish or valve reliefs, just a plain old flat top

Some of this information is incorrect. There are l76s with flat tops and l76s with valve reliefs.
The l76 I put in my car came out of an Escalade and indeed has intake and exhaust valve reliefs.

DaMaddHatter all L76's in Australia have flat tops with no reliefs. I apologize for misleading information, Just using good old google shows you are correct. Dish with valve reliefs were also available

It's all good. I just wanted to clarify that there are both. It just depends on what they come out of.
