Default question about putting togheter 402

i am putting togeter a ls2 402 in 2002 camaro, i am transfering parts from my ls1, i am putting new gear and chain and noticed that there is a bearing on the new top gear and was none on my ls1( i am using the ls1 cam retainer plate) is that ok?. i noticed on some pictures that there seems to be a chain guide but none on my ls1 so i have none to transfer to my ls2 do i need one?, has anybody aligned there oil pump or just bolted it on? any info , i am putting togeter tomorrow

Since you are using a GEN IV block the cam sensor will be mounted on the timing cover...Did you get a new timing cover too? Does the new timing gear look like this?

The raised portion is for a 24x reluctor..If it had 4 raised spots it would be for a 58x... I hope this helps or did you already know it???
