Default Engine knocking after rebuild.

Ok, here is the story. I recently rebuilt my engine with all stock parts except I upgraded my 241s to 243s. The engine is running great. The oil is at 50PSI at idle and idle is good. Turns on everytime on the first try. I know LS1 have small knock on the upper part of the motor but mine is pretty loud. My brothers car is not as loud. Can this be fixed with a tune? What would be the correct fix?

Is it a knock or a tick? If the valve train isn' set up right it will make noise. I think knock and it will be a loud noise from the block, not from the head. Take a long screw driver and place the tip on the valve covers and listen to the handle and see if where the noise is coming from. Larger injectors will make more noise also.

Did you cam? Sounds like a loose rocker. I had that problem after rebuild, all though I installed aftermarket cam also. Valve covers come off pretty easy, check your rockers. I used red loctite on all my rocker bolts and this fixed my problem.

No cam, its all stock stuff. Im sure its nothing major since I hear it only on the top and my bottom end sounds great and my oil pressure is beatifully at 50+. My friend said he will take a look on monday so wish me luck guys.
