Default How much lift on stock rockers?

Just curious what I could safely run for lift on stock L92 rocker arms. The new cam I bought is .624/.610, wondering if its going to be an issue down the road?

61 runs in the mid 9 second range and the dyno pulls to turn her. Running through the traps at 7200rpm.

Normally, max lift on stock rockers is .550" if you want to keep your guides perfect but a lots of people run them over .600.

even for these specific heads compared to other LS stuff? I think they are something like .510 stock arent they?

all I would need to do to save the guides is aftermarket rockers right?

And the beat goes on...

dime, if your valvetrain parts are correctly matched, the lift you mentioned will work with stock rockers. Not everyone matches valvetrain parts correctly, however.

My $.02

upgrade to roller trunions when you can. stock needles will spit out on you before its over with.
i ran a set of modified stock rockers for hundreds of 1/8 mile passes and on the street.
still running on the motor i sold them with.

I had a 233/239 .600" lift cam and did around 20 1/4 mile passes shifting at 7100rpm, at least 6hrs worth of WOT road racing, and 20K miles total (street/racing etc) with zero issues on the stock rockers. The engine supposedly had 23K miles when I installed the cam and AFR 205's. I would spend the money and at least get them rebuilt for peace of mind.

Yep, sound advice.

Not to steal the thread but that is a cool LS Vega! I have a couple of small block Vegas in my past.

If you are using stock rockers, how much time are you spending on setting the geometry or are you just bolting them in?
