between and LS7 and a LS9, which one would you go for and why?

LS7 'cause I already have the block for one
Seriously, I'm not ever planning to go over 1000hp with mine, probably not over 900 with spray or boost. I like the longer cylinder sleeves, steel main caps and bore size.

LS9: Larger head bolts, better casting, plus it's already supercharged.

None of the above.

The LS9 is a PITA to hook up, and the LS7 has weak cylinders and pistons.

For $15-21k, get a purpose-built motor.

What about a LS7 Block, fully Forged/Balanced, Cammed, just a NA Build at about 11.5:1 Comp..

That should hold out.

Yep if your sticking n/a then its not a bad way to go... although with the price of the block you could get a re-sleeved LS2 and be a little better off

Honestly I would go with one of the Warhawk ones if I was going to spend the money..
