Default what's needed just to swap out a stock LS3 cam for a G6x3 cam

Like the title says

what's needed just to swap out a stock LS3 cam for a G6x3 cam

this is what I have a 2008 6.2L LS3 Stock mated to a D and D Performance Viper spec t56 tranny.

What I wanna do is swap out the LS3 stock Cam for a G6x3 cam, and also want to install
1 7/8 Long Tube headers, with 3 inch ball flange connectors, 3 inch high flow cats and a dual 3 inch inlet dual 3 inch outlet magnaflow X muffler

Do I need to change the stock push rods and valve springs to do this swap or can I use the stock ones.

Thanks

g6x3 uses a 3 bolt cam gear rather than the ls3s single bolt, dual valve springs are necessary, harden pushrods necessary.

Also make sure you check piston to valve clearance carefully.

true, i needed flycutting but only because i milled the heads pretty good, they were rough when i bought them...

p.s. texas speed is a great place to get your parts, i got the lg cam but most all of my supporting mods came from texas speed, they know there stuff and their price is right on!

500 for cam, 380 for springs retainers and pushrods, then around 100 for the timing set you need.
add to that any labor you cant do yourself

like i said before, give any sponsor a call, they can all get you what you need, i used tsp, vengeance, lg, lingenfelter.. they are all good aftermarket companies and sponsors...

I dont know the specs of the "GX5000 version 2.3 pollutinator Stage 7" cam.....

But harded pushrods are needed in a totally stock engine. Its the first thing I changed.

Just have that cam ground on to a single bolt core. I did the the opposite. My cam is a single bolt LS3 design cam that I had ground on to a three bolt.

Sounds like a big cam, youll probably want a good set of dual springs.

Definitley check piston to valve clearance.....twice.
