Default L92 heads and nitrous??

I am looking to build a 408 motor for nitrous and put some L92 heads on it. I had a reputable engine builder tell me today that the L92 heads may not be a wise choice with nitrous because they will not hold up to it. Does anybody know why he would say this about the L92 heads? Is he speaking of blowing head gaskets or something? I have never heard of a head failing from nitrous use, its usually internal parts from my experience. I would use nice manley valves and good double coil springs on these heads not the stock valves and springs. Anybody know why he might say this?

Your builder is probably referring to the thin deck height. Depending on how much power you are looking to make will be the deciding factor if you should upgrade to something with a thicker deck height.

Most of the guys that have used the L92's with boost have reliability issues over 750~whp, and I would expect a nitrous setup to have issues sooner.
Depending on your power goals, this could be a problem in the future.

BTW - Nice avatar !!!

Hmm I guess I better rethink my goals or rethink my head choice then. My power goals are over 800 HP, 500 HP on motor and another 300 shot of spray. Sounds like I might have some issues with the L92 heads then. Would be the cheapest choice for a head that would not have gasket issues and still perform well enough for me to hit my goal? Anybody have any thoughts? Could I run some Stage 3 LS6 heads or something like that?

It was Shawn at VA Speed that told me I might have issues with the L92's and that much power and I know he is a well respected builder in the LSX community so I trust his judgement. I was just hoping to not have to spend an arm and a leg on some heads, which is why I was hoping to use the L92 heads. Does anybody know if some ported LS6 heads would flow enough air to support a 402 or 408?
