'04 would be Gen III as far as external block design and crank/cam signals but it is possible to have the newer Gen IV style camshaft bearings and shorter headbolts.
There is an iron 6.0L block that is fully Gen IV but its much more recent, it looks just like the LS2 aluminum block but in iron.

ummm my lq4 is a 2004, i ordered new head bolts they were supposed to be for the 2003-2008 engines they were the short head bolts....i need the long ones! WTF!
anyone want to buy some new head bolts?
