Default possibly extremely stupid ?s but cant find the answer

Seems many guys are popping the heads on these LQ4/9s they have for sale commenting they are good to go, low mileage still see cross hatch etc. Are the head gaskets on these motors reusable?

Also ive notice many on here refer to simply upgrading the rod bolts and going. Its been my experience when you upgrade to arp bolts you need to recheck/recenter the rods. Is that not deemed necessary, or are these guys just tempting fate.

Been a lot of planning and getting ready to jump into one of these motors. I've a few pretty basic ?s like those above still lingering though

Use Katech rod bolts and it isnt neccessary to recheck/recenter the rods. I know the GM LSx gaskets are reusable.

You shouldn't have to recenter/recheck the rods becauswe they're cracked instead of machines mating surfaces. The Katech rod bolts are the same weight as the GMs, so you don't throw off the balance of the rotating assembly.
