Default l92/ls3 internal motor questions

i have a million questions lol.

are the pistons pressed on or do they use the little clip thing? more specifically, would i have to go to a machine shop to swap pistons or could i do it in my own garage?

and a quote from texas speed on their heads/cam packages...

"When selecting your camshaft, please keep in mind that the largest camshaft you can run on a factory LS2 or LS3 short-block is our 231/236, .641"/.615", 112 LSA camshaft! "

thats not very big at all! well, a good size but for it to be the LARGEST possible sounds crazy to me.

im looking at a new l92 shortblock. while it's new, i figure i can throw in some forged pistons with valve reliefs so i can step up the cam size. also some rod bolts while its all easily accessable. has anyone done this yet? im wanting about a 11.0:1 compression l92 with a stout cam. looking at a 250 wet shot on stage 2.5 l92 heads and fast 102mm. the matching of pistons/milling heads to get the compression and cam size im after is rocket science to me though lol. can someone point me in the right direction?

the rest of the combo will be a 4,000 converter, 4.10 or 4.30 gears, 1 7/8 to 2" kooks with true dual 3" through x dumped and full typical bolt on's. 4,500 race weight lol.

aw come on Stew, you know something like that will never work I'm still kicking around flycutting my stock pistons for the cam PG spec'd me. For the amount of nitrous youre looking at, and the load from your raceweight forged pistons will no doubt be needed. Are you looking at any larger bore size? sticking with the 4.000?

its a new block that was torque honed so im going to stick with the same size slug thats in there. just forged and possibly relieved. i may just let patrick go crazy with it and tell me what he would do if it was his motor.

Pistons are full floating so you can swap them yourself.
