Default Comp 227/235 LSL Cam

I was wondering if anyone has tried the 227/235 LSL comp cam in a LS2 vette or GTO?

I have a Comp LSL cam in my LS7 441 and love it. I sure wish there would be more discussion about the new lobe design and maybe some people that have been running them awhile. Still pretty new i guess??

Thats the thing, I searched and found only stroker motors and 346's.....I couldn't find and LS2's running this grind? I found LS2's running a bigger LSL with a tighter split but I am looking for a little better driveability..

Good friend of mine runs that cam on his LS3 car. The car drives amazing and makes great power.

I also ran an LSL lobed cam on my old LS3 car. Made good power.

I was more interested in how it worked in an LS2 application...still nice to hear the testimonials though.
There are many shelf cams working well but I don't see anyone offering up grinds and results in the form of these LSL lobed cams?

Maybe one of the vendors wants me to be the test mule?

I have that cam with L92 heads in my 05 GTO, with a A4. It drives very well. Sorry I don't have ant Dyno numbers for you.

There are dyno numbers all over the place. LSR cams use LSL lobes and many aftermarket cams with the stupid names use LSL lobes too. Look at any LSR cam.

I run a 219/235 LSR(LSL) cam and love it!

I got a 227/235 in my 6L with L92 heads but! Its a LSK intake lobe and LSL exhaust lobe. Specs are 227/235 .639 .621 114lsa +2. I have not drive it still but its in less than a week. Cant wait to see the result on the dyno!

Thanks, I searched like crazy but again I was looking for results from people running an LS2...cams act a little different in an LS1 Vs an LS2 Vs an LS3 etc.. I do appreciate all feedback as well.

I would like to hear about your results and impressions when you get some numbers and some seat time!

The 227 intake duration should be a really good number. My friend and I both have a L92 block (376 cu in) with a LS6 top end. I have a 233/239 love it but it is a lot of cam for a street car. My buddy has a 228/234, his is a lot more drivable, and has great power.

I had the same cam in a LS6, it acted the same. IMO 230 is the magic number, anything over is pretty much a race cam, under is street friendly.

Indeed 230 is definitely a tipping point for street manners

LS1/LS2/LS3 results all work just fine. You cant pinpoint every little thing and expect to see your exact combination tested for you before you decide. All you need to do is see all the positive results with everyone else, and you can conclude you will also see the same type of positive results.

I also agree, 230s is wehre you start sacraficing drivability and comforts for all out power at high RPM.

Sounds milder at idle than my TR224 112 does and its tuned! I bet my new EPS 222/230 will sound even milder now that I hear that. But once you blip the throttle she sure barks good eh? Nice

112 VS 114+2 would make a difference on idle I guess.. Sounds very nice though! I like it. Its about time plp put bigger cams with L92 heads! Keeps us updated for the results.
