Default DOD/VVT delete necessary?

i have 5.3l lmg from an 09 tahoe and i am wondering if i need to delete dod and vvt. i have read and looked up kits but i have the motor in the car and have started the motor before i knew about the deletes. the motor runs ok for the most part it only runs on 12 volts instead of regular 13-14 range. the motor also has a steady idle but sometimes has a hiccup and will run up and down about 200-300 rpm but smoothes out if i give it some gas i believe this is caused by low voltage. i also don't have 02 sensors yet. so my question is are the dod and vvt functions causing the trouble and if not why should i buy the delete kits if the motor runs half way with them unplugged.

thanks, robert

They're not causing your issues. It seems you have full factory programming and the motor runs, so if you're OK with it being stock, then leave it as-is.

yes i do have a factory tune. i did not think the problems were caused by the dod/vvt but if the motor runs why should i get the delete kits? is there an advantage or a reason to get the kits?

thanks, robert

Your better off keeping it. The only reason for deleting is aftermarket cam/valvetrain parts and high RPM usage.
