Default Mast heads questions

WE are fitting some 510-302 mast heads to an ls3 at the moment and was told by mast not to use yella Terra rockers as they don't suite these heads ?
use only stock rockers or jesel shaft ones ??

so we went for the stock rocker option with trunnion up grade
but when we went to fit the STOCK LS3 rocker stands they hit the valve cover posts on the mast heads witch looks like some one has all ready had a go at them with a grinder very uneven around one side of the post ?
the rocker bolt holes don't line up by about 5mm or 1/3 of a hole , so we would have to dye grind the side of the stands to let them move over closer to the valves to get the rocker bolts in
has any one had to do this ???????????
its a bit **** weak to have to do this i think considering they say THEY bolt straight on out of the box
or at least say you will need mast rocker stands to fit stock rockers

if you screw a rocker on with out the stand they do seam to line up OK
as far as the rocker tip siting on the valve stem
ill post some pic to morrow when i get some
will all so drop mast an email

Hey Mate,

i also have the medium bore mast ls3 heads, though mine are fitted with T&D adjustable rockers designed for the MAST head.

i believe your problem is you dont have the required MAST rocker stands, they bolt to the head, then the stock rockers bolt to that.

i might still have my set lying around never used them, they are blue or purple if i remember right.

Hope that helps.

Thats no good to hear,
i was lucky enough to have my supplier tell me.

i cant tell you if they were an upgrade but i got them as my higging ls3 were lifting at 10 lbs with my htv 2300.

i have almost finished my project will be making a thread soon. setup is a lsx 427 with 6bolt mast ls3 heads htv 2300 12-14lbs boost in my ve calais v fitted with a 4l80e.

i would say by looking at them they are a great upgrade one of the better ls series heads ive seen, also thicker deck etc helps, and ive seen afr trickflow prc etc, but thats just my 2c.

im in melb if you get desperate for those stands just shout out!

they should have sent you a set of their stands [purple] with the heads. also did you get a set of pins with your heads. the pins go into the heads and the rocker stands set down on top of them. we have a set of yella terra ls3 shaft rockers on ours and havent had a problem with them yet.

let me see if i can find them, parts are everywhere here!!

i think i paid $100 for them, just need to make sure they are them same as your heads, mine are 6bolt medium bore ls3 if it makes a difference.

i can post them to you for half that just let me know.

good luck with your setup! im sure it will make more power with the 11deg valve angle etc, youll love them! make sure you have a good tuner.... not a big fan of austack....

I have just gone this way and used yella terra rockers.

Speak to John at SQP in Perth I am sure he will be able to help you out.
