When to upgrade oil pimp? Is it necessary
I'm a little stumped, will most likely use a single roller cloyes timing with c5r chain option. I notice a lot of pol are doing ls6 porter oil pumps or slp or melling.
What is the purpose? Are ls2 stock pumps really that bad? At what point should I say I should go with an slp or melling, what wrong with keeping stock pump?
Is the stock oil pressure not enough, have there been stories? Planning on doing a cam and boost, stock bearings clearances so wouldn't it be better to keep oil pressure stock as designed? I see some pol get 75 psi when warm on these things, that can't be good for power, I've done several ls1 cam swaps and blowers and always left the stock ls1 pump.
Is there something I should know about ls2 pumps? Thank u, it's not just an extra expense, I'm wondering if it's even needed.
My apologies using iPad it's pump not pimp

It's not necessary when low miles, but you're there anyway so why not do it for relatively cheap insurance.
If you have <20k miles on the car you're ok, but if say you're rocking 60k+ I would say it's a smart investment. The oil pump is the lifeline of the engine, you don't want to mess with that.
