Hey guys have a cpl questions for anybody or builders that have done a warhawk 481 build!
Combo is
talldeck warhawk ls7 block
4.125 bore
4.500 stroke
6.440 rod
9.800 deck
-19cc piston with 1.115 comp height
Wld be 10.7:1 with 72cc head,11.5:1 with 64cc head

****U guys have any trouble with rod/cam clearance with this combo?


I have not picked heads or cam yet so also looking for suggestions.
Not lookin for a all out max effort build here,gonna be a street/roadcoarse car.

I do have a cam laying around,wanna see what u think about it for this combo

You should go with the RHS block has a raised cam

Already have above shortblock!
Have not checked cam clearance yet,just wondering if others know if there is a problem with standard basecircle cam?
And then suggestions on cam/head.

yeah, you are going to have cam to rod clearance issues.

How bad? Any cylinders in particular?
This might be a dumb question but im new to the ls world,Do they make small base circle cams for these things?

Car is half apart as im halfway through a 91-96 body style upgrade,complete paintjob,and c6 z06 brake upgrade so pics rite now wldnt be pretty! lol
But ill update as i go along!

What transmission are you going to use? D44 or custom 9inch I hop is backing this.

Have a D44 out back.
Dont think my 4+3 4 speed tranny will live very long behind this so goin with a T56 6 speed.

it's going to be pretty bad, even with the 2.00 journal. small base circle cams are made but you need to be careful with the lifters at that point

Any thoughts on the cam i listed above?It was in a warhawk 427ci combo but thinkin about using it for this combo if i dont need a small base circle cam.
Im guessing im gonna need to have this rotating *** balanced again after clearancing rods for cam?Or maybe it will jst be a cpl grams id be losing?

I have the good lifters with tie bar.Brand is escaping my head rite now!lol
