You'll get mixed opinions. Most say blocking them causes bypassing the radiator. I have mine going to a heater core, but the valve for the heater is a "positive seal" block valve, so what's the difference? I have no issues at all...

Pumping them into a heater does nothing. You can remove them, or loop them.

Thermostat operation does wierd things if they are blocked. Looped and the tstat and cooling system operates normally. If they are blocked then the tstat sits in a "cold" spot of static water which causes late opening of the thermostat at low speeds with excessive heating and then excessive cooling at higher speeds. This is with a factory stat at least.

This is why the factory setup has water flowing between them at all times with a bypass type heater control valve.

As long as water flows through it, it doesnt care. Maybe you can find a molded u turn hose that will fit.

I'm running mine with a heater control valve which effectively blocks it. No problems. In modern cars, there is always flow through it though. Also marine versions loop the inlet/outlet, so I do believe it works better with flow through it all the time.
If you search the conversions forum, there's a part number for a loop hose.
