You can safely cut about .080" into the pistons. I've heard of some guys going to .100" but IMO that's on the edge especially is you're adding spray.

You need to measure in order to know exactly how much you'll need to flycut.

You should be pretty safe @ .080" I wouldn't worry about it. Are you going to be spraying the car?

You're going to be close to the edge with that much. You have to remember, these pistons are not forged and removing material only weakens them. I'm not saying it's going to blow up right away. I'm just saying you're going to be on barrowed time. Then again, anytime you're racing you're on barrowed time. Just make sure when you put the bottle in that the nitrous tune is on point. Be conservative with the timing.

This is what i would do, will install the cam and bolt on the driver side head, after putting modeling clay on the pistons, at lest 2 of them, torque it and install all the valve train, as ready to run, turn the motor and remove the head check the clearance, in my experience, there was more clearance there than anticipated, in all tested cases...

Default If a different cam...

You may not have to cut at all, cause the valve timing may be different all together...
