Default 2010 5.3l silverado heads question....

at work today, while I was doing the oil change, I look at the head casting number and see 243... so my question is; do they are the same thing than the ls6 heads but with rectangular port ( and provision for DOD...) or they are cathedral port???

The 243 heads are the LS6 heads as you stated. But they shouldn't be the lightweight valves the LS6 have though. They are cathedral ports. I just got the same heads a few months ago. I plan on sending them to TEA for porting. AI has stellar results too. Try a SEARCH if you are interested.

I don't think the heads have anything to do with DOD.

I throught that GM make the change for the rectangular when they switch for the 4th gen LS even on the small displacement... I already know for the sodium-filll valve from de ls6 243. I just use them for casting comparaison....

I just ask cuz it seem that I diidn't do my homework correctly hahaha!!!
