Default Lifter Tray??

After installing my V3 cam and installing the lifters, it raised a question in my head. How big of a cam can you put into an LSx engine before the lifters top out in the holders? Has this ever been addressed?

Is that why some guys run link bar lifters? This was the first time that I had an LS engine apart, and just had that as a question.

Hopefully, there is an answer with dimensions to help me better understand.

Thanks,

Thanks,
lobe lift is the problem. I have run .624/.367 lobe stuff alot with NO issues. Short travel lifters and aftermarket lifters with moved oil band areas can be a problem with .385+ lobe lift cams. Kurt Urban could probably be more at help here since he has used/done more then me.
