The heads you have are probably cast iron and large combustion chamber, so low compression, they are good for boost sense they are strong. For N-A is best to invest in a good set of heads, like the Mast Performance or PRC from Texas speed p/n 199-prc215
Or Mast Performance p/n 510-321
pay $25. get the cam spec for your app camhelp@guerragroup.com.
get a set off headers, good dual exhaust, and very very important, an FTI 3700 stall torque converter, 9.5"..
some slicks.
All this sounds like a lot of money but, take your time, get good parts, do it rite, do it ones.

Id get a set of 243 heads and have them ported by a vendor, or just buy already ported 243 heads. The 243's will also increase compression as a stock form bolt on and more if they are milled any. And as stated above id get a camshaft spec'd for your application.

I'd get me a Stroker kit from eagle for a 408 ci lq9. Or give AES a call to get advise on an Lq9 427 that they build all the time.

As far as a top end you can either go trick flow but that's easily $2k+ or a set of Ls3 heads ported and polished for $1600.

As far a a cam, Fraser at AES is good at spec'ing them out. But you can always call Comp and they can set you up but only once you get your engine specs and heads. Then all you have to do is Call them and they'll set you up for free. Also don't get a stall until you get the whole engine and drivetrain finalized.

mill the heads you have to bring up compression, and stuff in a fairly big cam, and GOOD valvesprings, then rev it hard and let it eat!

I'm doing the same swap. I bet you get your running before I get mine going. LOL
1" setback swap plates and a 98-08 F-body pan will make it fit.
