Default Help on L76 piston choice...new rings? forged pistons?

So I just got a L76 and since it's apart (nothing wrong) I want to make it a solid motor now for NA and possible boost.

First thought was to do stock pistons with a good set of rings.

Now I'm considering a forged set. I don't want to give up much if any compression now since I may use for boost. I could run E85 when I go to boost setup.

So what 4" or 4.005" forged pistons are out there and where to buy at a good price? Or just get good rings?

Forged pistons for sure. I would think you could crosshatch a good 4.000 bore and put 4.000 slugs in it but I didn't end up trying. Everyone said to get a torque plate hone done to .005" over. 4.000" pistons will limit your choices as well. Check out Summit for choices in both sizes. Probe (SCAT) pistons can be had for ~$500.

You might want to replace the connecting rods along with forged pistons and button the bottom up with ARP studs. Do this and you are set for future boost with no worries.

I'd rather throw stone good rings on stock slugs. When I go to boost I could run E85 and play it safe. Local guys TTiX Vette made like 765 @ wheels on stock LS6. Just gotta watch tune closely.
