Default PRC aftermarket 250cc LS3 head question

when i get my tax return i am putting a head cam package on my car, and i am seriously looking at the new PRC aftermarket 250cc heads.

Car is an 08 A6 vette

current mods are vararam, LG 1 3/4 superpros, no cats, LG GT4 catback, Fast 102, nick williams 102

car made 414rwhp and 410rwtq

Does anyone have any expierence with these heads on a stock cube LS3 and what kind of power they make?

Im looking at cams like the TSP 225/230 or somthing similar. Does anyone have any expierence with a similar set up?

Thanks

I just got mine today and posted some pics in another thread.

Ill have some numbers by the end of the month with a g6x3 cam, fast 102/102, 67 cc chambers and .040 cometic. Oh and a meziere ewp.

If you are staying with a smallish cam I would probably just opt for the ported stockers they offer. The big advantage to these (aside from the added port velocity) is the ability to run larger cams (without flycutting) due to extra p to v clearance.

Not sure they would be worth the extra cash with a smaller cam...but you never know. Ask tsp and see what they think.

I asked th same question, but nobody posts dyno numbers on stock bottom ends.
Not even tsp, I'm more than likely gonna go with some afr 230s or tfs 235s.

the 6 bolt clamping, flow #'s, and deck thickness for $2200 are the selling points for me. But my goals and app are alittle different, I'm doing a turbo 408 and 1000wph+ goals. I know there is talk of a even larger set ready to come out soon. Guess we will see.

I don't understand this way of thinking.

The closest head I could find to this one INCLUDING valve train features comes from SDPC and goes for $1550 a set, comes with a double spring@ .675", titanium retainers and ferrea steel valves http://sdparts.com/details/scoggin-d...enter/sd8803-1

The stock head measures at 260cc. The SDPC CNC ported stock head is measured at 280cc. This one outflows that at 30cc smaller, 10cc smaller than stock. Why exactly is this head a waste on a small motor or small cam? Say your goal is 500RWHP on an M6. The better your heads, the less cam you need. The better your cam the less head you'll need. Simple. If you're doing purely on budget then yes, you don't "need" to change anything but your springs on your heads and can break 500RWHP cam only but to say you need a big cam to take advantage of high flowing heads is not accurate.

If I stay N/A to hit the 500RWHP mark, I want to use a cam as small as possible so I will be investing more in the heads.

486RWHP through an A6 on a baby cam 225/230 114LSA. I rest my case.

Wow you got fantastic results. I only made 440RWHP and 405RWTQ with a LPE GT-11 cam and these heads. Was that through a stock A6 trans or stalled A6 trans? My compression is only 10.4 and I have the stock intake, ported TB, 1 7/8" headers, and maybe slightly smaller cam. I did it this way because I will be adding a Whipple next year. I guess these heads really like more compression and a FAST intake.
