Default LSX Tall Deck, anyone installed one?

Well, I am thinking about pulling my 383 and going bigger. The tall deck LSX sounds like it would be badass, built as a 479 or 502, I am just worried about getting it into my camaro.

I know I need custom headers, and intake spacers, but I am worried about how it will actually fit in the car. Will there be anything like the brake booster or something that will get in the way? I have a FAST 102 on my 383 now, and that thing barely fits under the hood, I cant imagine it would work with the tall deck.

I am assuming everything in the valvetrain is compatible, except for pushrods.

Is there anyone out there that has fit one of these in a camaro?

Thanks,
Matt

I'd like to build one of those myself with the GM DR heads.I've been doing some research and it looks pretty cool to me.No rules bracket racer too.

You might have to modify some holes on the accessory brackets as well if you plan to use stock brackets.

513 is the limit. With a 4.25 bore and a 4.5 stroke.

If you want a really big engine - BBC might be a less expensive option even though it will be tougher to fit than a tall deck LS. You can get 582 street cubes starting around $12K - no way to get a tall deck LS in this cost range.

TSP prices
tall deck block $2400
rotating assembly $2250+225 balancing
bearings $180
machine work/shipping figure ~$1500
Should be $6500 which is good for a 6 bolt forged engine
Then add intake spacers, header modifications, custom pushrods, tall deck engine covers, longer timing chain, new belt and your good to go. Those are all about the same price as the normal pieces too. You may have to cut your cowl some by the windshield wipers but no big deal. Having the 3" SS or cowl hood would also be a good idea to get an extra half inch of room since your running a fast intake.
