Default LS1 rockers on LS3 heads. Would you do it?

Is this a bad idea? I know the rocker stands themselves are different between the LS1 and the LS3, but I'm seeing the same P/N for both the LS1 and LS3 rockers themselves.

I guess my question is, it seems like it should work, but would you use OEM LS1 lifters on a LQ4 408 w/ LS3 heads and a cam so big it comes with a surgeon general warning? "Caution: may cause loss of bladder control when accelerating" Oh, also I'll be using LS7 lifters.

the exhaust rockers are the same, the intake rockers will not work. the intake rockers of the LS3 heads are offset. you will never get them bolted on even if you try.

the shitty part about it is, since the LS3 style heads are still fairly new, people are wanting an arm and a leg for stock LS3 style offset intake rockers. good luck, i'm in the same sinking boat. lol

So, it seems that the exhaust rockers from the LS1, and the intake rockers from LS3, on LS3 stands "should" work, right?

All you need is the LS3 intake rockers. Stands are all the same.

Ahh..... no they arent. The LS3 stands are different. You need 8 LS3 intake rockers and 2 ls3 stands.

YADA YADA.. I meant the exhaust rockers are the same. The Rectangular port heads are mounted approximately .250ths farther apart than the cathedral heads. This is due to the intake runners size and having to offset the intake valve.

I'd look into replacing the bearings in the rockers. It's a common failure point and with the cam you are talking about it sound like its going to take some serious springs.
