Sealing Head Bolts

Sealing Head Bolts I just got my Ported L92 Heads back...they are the TEA Stage 1 CNC Ported Heads.
The Intake Runners have 2 holes in each Port..one for the end of the Intake Rocker Bolt, and the other for the end of the Valve Cover Bolt. I was expecting this when the Heads were Ported, so no biggie.
I bought the little white thread sealant stuff from Orielly's...what are you guys using to seal these up?

The problem with most RTV and sealants is they are not resistant to gasoline and fuels. Since the injectors are still prior to the port inclusions, the common sealants are subject to constant contact with fuel and can break down in short order.
The one product I use special for this is Permatex Hylomar. It's been around for decades, but there's a new blue formulation that's easier to work with..

I use teflon tape on everything. I used it to seal fuel line fittings on plenty of small blocks on The mechanical pump on The block and the fuel log. Worked every time. Don't see why it wouldn't work on rocker arm bolts. My advice would be to dry assemble the rocker on The head and see how far it protrudes into the runner and cut the bolt off so you don't have that sticking down and tape hanging out of the hole.

Arp thread sealer or Loctite thread sealer here. Never had an issue with either one as far as holding up to gasoline. Use them to seal rocker studs many times. I have also used plumbers paste with PTFE (teflon) from the hardware store in a pinch.

You also could use Quick Steel to seal the hole . It is very strong (18,000lbs./sq. in. compressive strength) and is'nt affected by petroleum products and is good to I believe 500deg fahr continuous and it is'nt porous especially if it is smoothed with smooth metal object while it's in the hardening stage at the 4min - 8min mark .

I DID however thread longer bolts down through first...there were very minor burrs at the bottom of the tapped holes where they enter the ports...the longer bolts pushed the burr down, making them easy to remove before bolting the heads on...now I am worry free about that entering my engine.
