Hand ported L92's
I already know that I'm gonna hear it about porting a set of already great flowing heads, but I couldn't resist. I just wanted a bit better flow if thats understandable. With that said, here is my hand ported L92's I recently completed.
This is my first port job! I cleaned up the runners and bowls, bullet shaped the valve guides, and cleaned up the bowls. I left the combustion chambers untouched besides slightly removing the sharp outer edge. I also just installed a set of Manley dual springs and retainers with this tool I order for $35. Great tool at an even better price.

On my phone so I can't see the pics very well, but I will say from experience, unless these are going on a large cube stroker with a large cam your probably not going to gain much if anything.
The thing about these heads is they have large, lazy ports, which kills low lift air speed and in turn affects driveability and will cost you low end.
As long as you removed material in all the right places, and left the SSR pretty much intact, they should perform well up top, but like I said, you will pay in low end and driveability.
PRC and Texas speed developed a small port l92 style head for this reason. These heads can support more than most builds require in stock form and unless your air flow requirements are more than the average build, you are pissing into the wind.
I'm anxious to see what they are going on and how they do perform. Props for having the ***** to cut into an already good head for more.
I can't even get myself to take a cartridge roll to mine, and I have ported many sets of heads with great results. I think I'm going to see how my engine does on stock heads, then go from there.
