Default who has a 6.0?

I have a stock ls1 i am building for my 98 z28. im going to be in the market for a motor for my 68 in a few months and have herd storys of the lq4 and lq9 6.0's making lots of power with little effort. so my question is who is running one of these motors? what do you have done to them? what are your hp tq numbers? and what did it cost?

Not really the answer your looking for, but they seem to be durable. I have an iron block alum head one in my truck. It has over 130k on it. I believe the heads are based off the LS6's but have bigger chambers for less comp. For a car i would change the intake and you might have to change the acssy. brackets. I see no negatives in using one. If you could find a 6.2 that would be better unless going FI then the iron block is better.

Ive got an LQ9 and after selling the parts I dont need off of it and parting out my spun bearing LS1, Ill only have next to nothing in my new motor... I got my 6.0 for $750 and 53k miles.. clean as a whistle... My friend has the same setup, MS3ish cam and 6spd with 390 gears and a 200ish plate shot... hes putting out great power for such a plain setup. These motors make great power for little cash if you know what to use... Get the block man, youll be very happy with it...

After seeing a NA ls1 put down 448rwhp a couple weeks back....I've abandoned any ideas about a 6.0 build.

thats why i want to decide what block to go with. i have 325 in my ls6 heads 125 in my cam 160 for valve springs 66 for push rods and still plan on 300 for an intake and 45 for a ported throttle body .

just over 1000$ in my ls1 build and i shoud be making around 425rwhp

i know that was cheeper because i already had the motor so i know my next build will run me more$ since im starting with nothing. and if i go with an lq4 what would be the best "bang for buck" things to do to it?

just a cam package and tune and youll be putting down 400whp depending on drivetrain loss... my friends 6.0 motor has a healthy cam and put down a little over 450 through a six speed and moser 9" with 3.90 gears... hes also spraying a 200ish wet shot...

there really is no down side to a 6.0, i run cnc ls6 heads but you could run ls3/l92 cheep and make good power, just remember dyno numbers are for the birds. how it runs on the street is where it really counts.

put down 440/450tq (superflow dyno)with a small cam(228/230) and fueling issues hoping to be back in a few days to make closer to 460hp area, im real happy with the tq numbers tho
