I am installing a gm lsx454 (crate motor ) in a f-body, who else has done it ,tell us your results dyno numbers , results after extra bolt on later ie ls7 intake to a fast/ results after porting heads compared to the as cast in the crate. did you spray it and how much. cam change results ?

I take it you haven't installed it yet, interesting cam choice or is that the cam that comes with the GM crate version? I am interested myself in some of the answers to your questions. Mainly for comparison since we have a LME built LSX based 454 topped with milled TFS 245 cathedral port heads. Of course our engine is an aged version before even the FAST 92 came out so we are still running a ported FAST 90 right now. Debating on a switch to a LS7 style topend with a FAST 102...

BTW ours did 580/530 through an unlocked built 4L65E and 4K stall.

It is the cam that it came with .i ask all that because it is hard to find out. you just dont hear a lot about the crate motor. most people seem to go a cheaper route. the motor is built with good aftermark parts (short block) i am installing mine with the bolt on already ie tony mambo port fast etc instead of the factory ls7 stuff so i wont really know much i will have gain from the parts. i thought about changing the cam. no i havent installed it yet. It has been sitting on a stand for over a year the body work took a little over a year. so i had time to purchase stuff slowly while i waited.
the car is coming home from the shop tomorrow to start the build or so they say ?

That is what I want to put into my GTO. The only thing I'd like to add is a procharger to it. I think it would be a fun project.

Was thinking something along those lines myself, but you may want to check the thread about forced induction on the 4.185 bore.

th lsx454 has 11.1 compression even though it has top of the line aftermarket forged parts installed from gm it is not a turbo or blower motor/ the ls7 has 11.1 also. it can only take about 4 to 6 psi. it would make about 800 to 850 hp. it would be better to spray it. I am planning on spraying it if i keep it as i my not be able to drive it. on nos it can make over 1000hp easy and still get over 25mph hwy way as on a blower the mph is a joke. i am also planning on installing a fuel box that cuts out the fuel on 2 cylinders and gives another 30% of more mph on the freeway.
