Default after racing an srt4. engine shuts off and knocking

ill do a kill story thread later once the guy send me the vid. he is being slow as hell.

so after the race i let off at what ever rpm(not redline) in 4th as i was approaching a car in traffic. i get over behind the neon slowing down and notice my engine is off. doesnt seem like it wants to start and i get it started giving it throttle while cranking.

it will not idle at all. i have to keep it alive with throttle. i pull over after getting off the highway and pop the hood. nothing obvious. its hard to start so i give it throttle and it starts. we go back to the parking lot and on the way back i am downshifting to slow down. at about 2500 rpms i hear a knocking. get back and let the guys at the meet hear it. i have only heard the knock noise from the driver seat. so im not 100% sure how it sounds.

i have it towed home. disconnect the neg battery cable like an idiot. now the codes are cleared.

this is the only thing i find without going to deep into it.

http://s398.photobucket.com/albums/p...oserocker2.mp4

the rocker bolt is tight. all rockers got torqued to spec.

mods done 3k mi ago. Raptr Cam kit, dual valvesprings,LS7 Lifters.

the lifters were in Mobil 1 5w30 for 24hrs.

i tried putting a different rocker where the loose one was. was still loose.

Collapsed lifter maybe? im kinda pissed if it is. seeing how they are new.

oh and im rev limited to 6300rpms and i didnt hit the limiter once that race

engine is done. spun bearing. got it to run today and after it warmed up. i increased the rpm slowly and around 2500 it started knocking loud and i let off and it made a loud screech and died.

5.3? LS1 shortblock and do rod bolts? trying to keep it budget friendly.

How is your oil pressure? Did you replace the pushrods with your cam swap?

seemed normal. 20psi at lower rpms when warm. after racing it usually sat there. i revved it up to 6k when sitting on the side of the road and didnt hear a knock and oil pressure went to 40 psi. seems normal when not loaded.

yes cam kit cam with new pushrods. i checked and where the rocker is loose the pushrod is NOT bent. the valve spring is not broken. leads me to believe the lifter collapsed. brand new LS7 lifters

oh and new oil pump was done 13kmi ago.

Did you measure pushrod length? Also, what preload do you have on those lifters?

How bad? Can you pick up a stock crank and put it back with new rings and bearings? Or did it damage the block too?

i dont even have it apart. idk if im gonna take it apart anytime soon. dont have money to fix it now so im probably gonna take my time with it and have it ready by next spring.

its in my grandma's garage and there isnt a ton of space. its a 2 car. im hoping its a rod bearing. maybe some rod bolts got stretched.
