Default LS2 crankshaft replacement question

I am needing to replace the crankshaft in my stock 05 GTO and want to keep it stock and cheap. My question is do I need to buy a crankshaft for an LS2 to keep from balancing? Thanks

Yes...the balance for a truck engine will be different. However, on a stock engine, 100 or so bucks is well spent on balancing because the stock parts are not balanced to each individual rotating assembly. You could easily gain 10-15 from a good balance.
