Default LS3 with stock exhaust manifolds cam?

Colorado emissions are probably the same as California's so I've decided to keep the stock exhaust. Any thoughts on a smog legal cam for a LS3 that will work with the manifolds?

I'm not looking to set any dyno or 1/4 mile records, just replacing my oil burning knocking ls1.

You DEFINETLY want a cam specd for having stock manifolds, and it still wont be exactly 'ideal' but it should do what you want

That cam will work well in a LS3 and make very nice power despite it's relatively small intake duration. Closing events and opening events are key to this cam making good power still. Of course more overlap would make more power, but at the expense of maybe not passing smog.

I could also do something with a tighter LSA if you wished to try and make a little more under the curve power and top-end and still pass emissions. It would most likely end up on a 115lsa installed straight up or ground on a 114 advance.

Thanks for the advice. I will likely contact you all at Tick when I get ready to buy the cam and springs.

Would I be able to use PAC 1518 springs with the LSL lobes?

I would definitely go to the 1521's to handle that BIG intake valve. You're right to go with the nitrited spring though for incredibly long life. I don't seem to be able to wear out the 1521's I've been running since 2006 on multiple L92 headed builds. I've run a lot of lift with them the whole time.

I would take WKMCD's advise here. I'll be waiting!

I agree 100%.

EFI69cam we can also set you up with a package deal that would include springs, push rods and the cam in question. We use Brian Tooley Racing springs in all our cam packages and we would use his "Platinum" dual spring good to .660" lift.
