Question LSX 440 PRC 247's or LS7 265's ?

Finishing up my LSX 440ci build and have always ran the LS3 250cc or LS7 265cc heads in the past. I was considering the PRC 247cc cathedral heads for a change, but don't wanna go backward ? anyone else running these on a bigger motor with success ?

We have had customers make some impressive numbers for sure with the 247s, but on a big inch build like yours if you going for the most power I would recommend you taking a look at our PRC 285 LS7 aftermarket castings. Feel free to give us a call we would be happy to help you out, and discuss some options.

I'd try cathedrals.

You didn't mention weather this an N/A build, Nitrous, or boost.
Important in your selection.

I have already had one other 440lsx and a 427lsx ,but all were in cars that weighed 3000lb or less. This engine will be in my Trailblazer SS so I was considering cathedrals for more midrange after all it weighs nearly 5000lbs. All my others I ran either the PRC 265cc LS7 heads or the PRC LS3 250cc heads with great success the last 440 made 723hp on the dyno with a small cam HUC239/LXL246 112ls+3 and the 265 heads. My goal is to get my SS in the 10's N/A but I might run a small shot 150hp tops to get it off the line. I run a RPM level 6 trans and a FTI converter 3800RPM hard hit , stock 4.10 gears, kooks 1 7/8 headers and 4" exhaust

I'm not really after the biggest number, more concerned with making it work best with my heavy Trailblazer SS. i refuse to run .700" lift so I will never see the 400cfm.

Nice, what the motors going in does make a big difference. In this case a TBSS so I agree a set of our aftermarket cathedrals such as the PRC 247s would be an excellent choice. Give us a call so we can discuss the details, and see whats going to work best for your setup.

When I priced it out the AFR 245 setup would cost me almost $600 more than the PRC 247's and there is no real advantage to the AFR's they are both 6 bolt and the numbers are within 3% I was told the AFR's are extra $ for 6 bolt on top of of that.

I already have everything except for cam, heads and intake....pistons are 4.185" Wiseco's FT -2.8cc , I am running a Holley Hi-Ram I had great success with it on my last 454lsx build for a friends Trailblazer.

I was thinking 239HUC/246LXL .657/.652 112+2 with PRC 265 LS7 heads
or 243LSL/250LXL 113+4 with the 247cc PRC heads both would use the 102mm Hi-Ram. I have ran these cams before and made the same peak power on the LS7 heads as cams with the 250 intake duration. I refuse to have a power curve that looks like pyramid for an extra 6hp.

Do not sell to this guy, I have been in the hospital since Sunday yet he still expects instant service like its Wal-Mart. He hounded me to sell it to him earlier than I wanted to avoid a problem like this in the first place, I was not even home. I had my wife take care of shipping it because he had to have it right that second........

The block was everything I said it was to top it off you paid $1,650 shipped so basically you bought an lsx block that has a fresh line hone, decks squared and 1 sleeve final cylinder machining required for $1,400 I'm sure someone else will take that deal considering I don't recall there being one listed in weeks....and most need full machine work on top the $2,000 asking prices.

The block is filled you liar!!! How can you say that you sold me what was advertised?! From your add it does not say that it is filled or sleeved!!! SO YOU LIED!!!

It is not fresh from the machine shop because if I was going to use I would have to add main studs and get aligned hone again and all of cylinders need cleaning up! Are you joking me?! Send me money back like you said you were going to do and you can have this block back cause it is worthless to me!

Why don't you do the right thing ?! Or you like screwing people over out of their hard earned money?

So you cant answer messages I have sent you the last three days? It doesn't seem that your hands are broken and you have access to a computer!!

Lets see Sunday was the 17th and you told me I was going to get my money back on the 10th. So there was 7days in between you being in the hospital and responding to my PMs which you haven't sent me one at all. Or the three emails I sent to chistinemunio@gmail.com. I know you have been on LS1tech since the 10th and before the 17th so you really have no excuse!!!

So your excuse SUCKS!! It will take your wife an hr to get the money and send it back!

Oh and I didn't go out of my way to overnight you the money cause your wife's car broke down and you needed it to buy another car?

What about spending 1650 dollars and asking for tracking number and you freaking out?! Come on dude lets be real a tracking number isn't that hard to provide!!

Stop making excuses and do the right thing and send me my money back and I will cover the shipping on the block!!
