Default Cam Question

Hey guys just got a quick question. Is it possible to run a texas speed MS3 or MS4 cam with out changing anything other than a tune and a stall? any input will be helpful Thanks.

you'd be leavning alot of power on the table with no
accomodating heads, for those cams.

What mods do you have? I would hope at least a lid, headers, ypipe/catback or duals, and a stall of some kind. If you have all that, all you'd need is the cam kit from TSP and a tune unless you have like a 2500 stall. But 3200+ will work with those cams (but might not be optimal).

Yes you can just check ptv clearance. With that said, thats probably not the best cam for that setup and you wont be able to get the full advantage of the cam without the full array of bolt ons...heads, intake, gears, stall, more compression etc.

I had a 00 ss Camaro with similiar setup. LS6 heads, ported and polished LS6 oil pump,3000 stall, MS3 cam, stock injectors, LS6 intake, and 3.73 gears, it ran 6.83 threw the 1/8 on motor and 6.38 on spray, sweet setup but beware and change the lifters to LS7 the first time so you dont have to do it twice.

do not really know, had the car street tuned, not on a dyno, but it was a beast for a street car. you shouldnt have any PTV problems with this setup, i never did and initially i had stock LS1 heads and changed the springs to match cam and that spray was on a 100 shot. I did not put on the LS6 heads until i changed the lifters, because they were collapsing.
