Default LS7 dry sump oil tank question

Does anyone know why the scavenge supply and return both go to the bottom of the LS7 oil tank? It seem like you wouldn't want the foamy supply to the tank right next to the pickup for the high pressure stage. All other designs I have seen take scavenge oil to the top of the tank and use gravity for separation.

i have a tank at home and was kinda wondering the same thing...i guess i'll have to take it apart and see if there's a baffle or something in there to keep them separate.
