Default A.E.S built 408,mast heads...SHould i upgrade

Hello i have a A.E.S built 408ls with mast ls2 11* heads. comp cams 54-459-11 (.624/617 .231/,239). This is N/A motor. Before i install it in project (1970 nova pro touring) i was thinking of upgrading to more cubes would like 454ci.Just dont know if the h.p and tq will be worth it. This is not a top max h.p build but more of a strong rpm build torque is important plus this is street driven.I wouldnt mind spending another couple of grand to switch out.Would there be much gain in torque and h.p in the mid upper range going from a 408 to a 454 or a 427? My motor is still in the plastic from a.e.s. They built the complete long block and i would use them again to build another. What are some suggestion from forum members. Should i sale and start over or run it and be done?????? Thanks Robert

Default

the 427 and up motors shine when its comes to TQ compared to the lower cube motors, yes they will gain HP as well but the TQ is where you will see the big diff for a street built motor

i have a 408 and wish i had gotten a 427 or bigger
