Lq4 crank inside ls7 block?????

Lightbulb Lq4 crank inside ls7 block?????

I have a ls7 block. Bare.
im wondering if i could throw a wet sump rotating assembly from an lq4/9 into an ls7 block.

Is this possible?

The answer is no problem... The question is why would you put a shorter stroke in an LS7 block?

No. It will not work to my knowledge. The ls7 block is set up for a dry sump. I don't think the oil passages or mounting bosses are drilled for a wet oil pump.

I have a fully built lq4. But was given this ls7 block from my buddy down south.
wondering if i could transfer my forged rotating assembly to the ls7 block.

Wondering if it will bolt.
? Anyone

It's a 4.125 bore so you would need pistons. Ask one of the vendors if the crank would work. It would be interesting to see what kind of power that set up would make. A 387 CI motor with a big bore and relatively short stroke should turn a ton of RPM.

I'd stick with the iron block. You have to get new pistons as noted, re balance and set everything up again just to gain 17 cubes and a lighter package all with a block that is prone to cracking.

Too much effort in my opinion.

Yes it will work, I've done dozens of wet sump LS7's. You'll have to have the boss drilled on the side of the block for a dipstick tube, but other than that it goes together like any other LS.
