Default Looking for an Ls7 engine builder

As some of you guys know, I have a Lt1 396 built by Chad Golen in my 97' Z, which I have to say I'm very happy with. Now I'm looking to do a procharged Ls7 in my 02' SS. I have been trying to decide whether to have chad build me this motor or look into other engine builders. So hear is what I'm looking for, may be you guys can help me out. I want this car to be a 3/4 strip car, 1/4 street car. forged bottom end, AFR heads, Im not sure on what size cam, nor am I sure whether or not that, I can go with a SR cam or hydro cam, anyone have some good cam and head combinations. nor am I sure whether I want a FAST intake or Ls6 intake. I also take it I'm going to have to go with a wet sup pump oil system instead of dry? Chad informed me through talking to him, that he could build me a 850hp motor and it would meet my exceptions on the track and the street. Guys please give me some ideas. Im extremely new to the Ls scene, so please forgive me on asking some pretty basic questions on this thread.

To meet your goals, youre probably going to end up with a 427 inch or bigger engine that is similar to an LS7, because an actual LS7 will have many drawbacks for a blown street/strip car that will have you changing most of the parts anyway. Whoever you choose to build it for you will be able to find an assembly that fits your needs and budget.

An RHS block 427 full of Compstar and Wiseco parts with TSPs 6 bolt LS7 heads sounds like a combo that could take all the punishment you need it to without getting into the high dollar parts if they're not needed.

Thanks guys I appreciate the info, I'm kinda still learning what makes a Ls1 a Ls1 ,a Ls2 an Ls2, so on as so forth with Ls3, Ls6, Ls7, & the Ls9. I kinda got lost after the Ls2. My total budget is 50K, I want something that not only performs but also handles, and looks good all at the the same time. Anyway thanks again guys, just still at the drawling board with this SS of mine.

I would call ERL, they can set you up with a balanced package to reliably meet your goals.
