Question 4.8L Cam Swap MPG LS2 vs. LS6 vs. Crane Cam 200

I'm looking to do a cam swap on my 4.8l 2008 Silverado. Now before you go telling me "if you care about mpg don't swap your cam" I know I've heard that before. However, I have also heard some success stories of guys swapping cams in small ls engines and actually raising their mpg (this is not my plan). I’m looking to get the best performance I can without having to get 14mpg on the highway as this is my daily driver. If any of you guys have done one of these swaps on your 4.8 or 5.3 your input would be greatly appreciated.
I have a pretty good idea of the additional power each of these came would provide thanks to a recent Car Craft article. For anyone else planning on doing this swap the specs are as follows.
Stock LM7 (from a 5.3)
Lift: 0.466/0.457
Duration: 190/191 degrees
Peak power:353 @5200
Peak TQ: 384 @ 4300

LS2 out of a 6.0
Lift: 0.525/0.525
Duration: 204/211
Peak Power: 403@ 6100
Peak TW: 399@4900
TQ gains @2500: -18lb-ft
@3500: 0
@4500: 0
@5500: +46lb-ft (48hp)
@6200: +67lb-ft (78hp)

LS6 out of a 6.0
Lift: 0.479/0.467
duration: 196/207
Peak power: 376 @5900
Peak TQ: 386 @4500
TW gains: @2500: -8
@3500: 0
@4500: 0
@5500: +23 lb-ft (24hp)
@6500: +32lb-ft (40hp)

Crane cam 200
lift: 0.502/.502
duration:200/200
peak power: 380 @5400
peak TQ: 401 @ 4700
TQ gains: @2500: 0
@3500: +14
@4500: +15
@5500: +29 (30hp)
@6500: +32 (40hp)

I have heard good things about comp cams XR259HR as well.

Also any input on compatability and reprogramming the pcm would be helpful. Thanks, Eric

The lower displacement is going to raise the rpm more yet than the 5.3l.
His quoted info looks messed up too.

With a 4.8l in anything heavy I would not go bigger than the LQ9/LS1 cam far as OEM cams.

I would have kept the truck intake.

What vehicles do you consider heavy as far as curve weight.

I should have put qualifiers in there about stall, tranny, tires(affects gearing) and gear.

Best bet is to post info and let the community see it and weigh in.

In very general terms though I think this community will see anything over say 36-3800lbs as heavy because that would be heavier than the average 4th gen which is "average" around here.
