Default Sealant for LS head bolts or are they blind tapped?

Hey guys, i did a search but wasnt sure if the answers were relevant to my later model engine.

Ive got the heads off my L98 VE commodore and im in the process of installing new valvetrain, cam and blower. I was wondering if i need to use sealant on the ARP head bolts im using? Do they go into the water jackets or are they blind tapped? I noticed the thread was wet when i extracted them for the first time, but it may have just been coolant seeping down from the head.

If sealant is required, any ideas on what to use? I dont like my chances of getting any from the Holden dealers over here!

Thanks for any help,

Shaun.

They are blind tapped, no need for any sealant. Make sure there isn't any water or oil in the holes so they don't "hydraulic" when you screw in the studs and it gets heated. Some blocks have been cracked due to this and it will save you a lot of headache.
