Default Hard start after cam swap

I did a cam swap on my 5.3 (LH6) and having trouble starting it after the engine is warmed. I put some stronger springs and milled .020 off the heads to get more compression. I bought a MSD high torque starter for a LS1 - LS7 it mounts but I think the gear don't line up. Anyone else have this issue.

I've heard of this happening a lot of times the gears aren't meshing properly
