Lq4 JY build help!! 2000/2004long block swap Ok everybody... Had an earlier post of needing lq4 valves for my build due to rust, as the tear down progressed I found the passenger side cylinders having bad rust and water in them. So with that being said here's my new basket of problems...
I have a 2004 lq4 with 317 heads that was my original build motor going in my 99 ss m6. The JY gave me a replacement motor of an early year 6.0 iron head motor to replace my long block with.
My questions are:
Can I run the early year block with my 317 heads?
Do I need to swap cranks?
What differences are there b/w the years?
What needs to be done for the early year to fit my f-body?
Any and all advice would be great... Thanks
