Default Need some oil pan help

I am working on a 2008 aluminum 5.3L. It came from a 4X4 Silverado. I planned to remove the truck oil pan and accessories and purchased an F body pan and install it. I noticed a difference in the pans, one pan had a external port (2002) fbody pan. the truck pan had a internal port (nipple). Can I run the 2002 f body pan on the 2008 motor? attached are a few picture

Thanks Allen, do you know what the nipple on the oil filter housing is for?

Ok, so it is not necessary for my application and a 2002 pan will work just fine? Thanks everyone. Sorry for all the basic questions.

ok, i have that same issue, but a different question sortof. i have a new chevy perf. crate LS376/480. it has what's supposed to be a vette oilpan. i'm pretty sure they never put DOD on the crates engines. the original pan has that relief valve, where the new fbody oilpan doesn't. why did the engine as it came from the factory need it, and since i changed pans, it doesn't need that relief valve?
