Default Brand New F Body Oil pan - Can I polish/clean interior?

Hey guys, long time lurker here. Thanks for all the valuable information and resources! My main question: has anyone cleaned up the casting on new GM parts F body oil pan?

I just picked up my F body pan from my machinist who installed the return lines the future turbo(s). The pan is BRAND new and I noticed some casting, burrs, etc. on the interior. I was thinking about smoothing those out so they don't loosen up and end up in the oil. I am not talking about a full on mirror polish b.s. deal. Just a wire wheel to knock off as much casting as I can.

Thoughts on this? Anyone do it or hear why they shouldn't?

I considered doing the same thing on my new F-pan also. If you have the tools to do it, I would,. Just be sure to clean the debris out very good.
