They began sometime in the 2007 models. They changed the bodystyle of the Silverado sometime in 2007 and when they did, thats when the heads came out on the trucks. So 2007 to current engines have them. Just make sure you check the casting number if your looking at a 2007 just to be sure. The heads are the same as the Ls3 but they have heavier valves and different valve springs just FYI.

Technically none came with LS3 heads, but L92 heads. The difference there is the solid intake valve vs. hollowstem.

Not sure if this helps, and I could be wrong, but any aluminum block 6.0 truck engine should have the L92 heads.

didn't realize there was an aluminium block 6.0 truck engine, thought they were 6.2l, also the only aluminium 6.0 i have seen out of a even close to a truck (tbss) was an ls2 with 243 cathedral heads.

L76 seems to be 6.0 with aluminium block and ls3 style heads, very rare around here..

iron block LY6 or L96 is probably what you want, got mine on car-part, search 2007+ vans

823 is a casting number. L92 is a type of head. It's the LS3 with the heavier intake valves. Any L92 head could have one of several casting numbers, including 823.

nah really ... ... you said any aluminum 6.0 motor has l92 heads,, wrong ... ls2's did not come with l92s ... there are many casting numbers for l92 heads . but if your sticking to gen IV motors, then you are correct , actually any 6.0 or bigger has l92's , iron or aluminum. .

No, I did not. I said any truck engine. And I'm not talking about the TBSS or the 97-x either... I'm talking about the pickup trucks.
